# Limitations and considerations

When replicating to a SAP HANA target, the following limitations apply:

* INSERTs and UPDATEs of the BLOB data type are not supported in **[Batch optimized apply](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/replicate/May2025/Content/Global_Common/Content/SharedEMReplicate/Customize%20Tasks/tasks_applychangtunestab.htm)** Change Processing mode. Use "Transactional apply" mode instead.

* Replicating data with 4-byte emoji characters is not supported.
